The castle was rebuilt many times, and combines a variety of architectural styles (Gothic, Renaissance, Baroque, Rococo).

Schaaken castle — castle of the Teutonic Order. Located near Kaliningrad (Königsberg). Schaaken was not injured in the Great Patriotic War. Since the end of 1945 in the castle was a shelter for German orphans, which lasted until 1947. Then the castle was given for the house and outbuildings used for domestic purposes. In 2011 the castle was given to the Russian Orthodox Church. In 2012 was a fire there.
